After creating a sensational buzz similar to the one of a Shatabdi or Rajdhani journey, Baar Baar Dekho had spread wild fire across Bollywood lovers with the Kala Chashma song and the expectation of another adorable yet trendy love story with its ripping trailer. Promising a developing Siddharth Malhotra paired up with the gorgeous veteran Katrina Kaif, Dharma production’s latest was in awe to be another romantic grace in Bollywood. But, it misses its targets by a noticeable margin.

The movie begins with the lead pair falling in love as couples which goes onto become an age long love story. The first 45 minutes promise a series of hilarious scenes on shuffle featuring every star in the film. The journey picks up, once again setting high expectations in its first quarter, but soon loses momentum. The time/thought travel of Siddharth Malhotra is enjoyable and candid in the beginning, but it soon begins to turn boring and seamlessly irritating with stale dialogues and immature direction of Nitya Mehra. Despite a first half ending on a stale mate, the second bit of the film tops its dull nature.

Though the journey disappoints at the stations of direction, acting, dialogues and its plot but startles when the train halts at stations of music, cinematography and its final message. The combination of both, calm and refreshing numbers with hip hop, dance songs, pumps in amazing music into the journey. Brilliant camera angles, shots and locations from Mr. Chandran add some brightness and beauty to the portrait.

Acting skills are not much tested. As the lead pair continues to evolve in their skills, some serious tutoring needed for the comedian Rohan Joshi and Taasha Shah. Vetrans, Ram Kapoor, Sarikaji and Rajit Kapur add their quota of giggles and entertainment in what could have been a bland meal.

After a bumpy journey, the film finally ends after a 160 minute long run with an amazing message to take home for the average Indian film lover. Well, the film is bound to get mixed opinions because of its unconventional story, but the Cinema Station rates Baar Baar Dekho a three tier AC journey, which gives you the fun but also spoils it sometimes.

My Rating: Average Three Tier AC Journey(2.75/5)
